Welcome Back BMS Students and Parents!

We are excited to return after a very good 1st semester following an extended break due to the weather.  As a result of the closing of school on Thursday, January 3rd, we will be attending school on Friday, January 11th.  In the event that we have additional inclement weather this winter, we will make up the missed day on the Friday following the day missed due to weather.  Here’s hoping we’ve seen the last of bad weather this winter.  Also, first semester grade cards will be mailed out on Wednesday, January 9th.

We are wrapping up our winter sports seasons with basketball and wrestling completing their seasons in early February.  All winter and spring sport schedules can be found online at under the Athletics tab. W appreciate the hard work of all the coaches and athletes throughout the year.

I would like to congratulate our November and December TRRFCC Pirates here at BMS.  November TRRFCC Pirates are 6th grade- Jadyn G and Reese W, 7th grade- Shaelinn R and Nathan B, and 8th grade- Taya B and Mason W.  December TRRFCC Pirates are 6th grade- Audra D and Bryce M, 7th grade- Haley K and Landen R, and 8th grade- Emma M and Eli K.  January TRRFCC Pirates will be announced at the end of January and recognized at our next Rise and Shine the 1st week of February.

Our 6th grade After School Enrichment students will be taking a Friday Field trip to the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History on Friday, January 18th.  I appreciate the work of Ms. Snider, Mrs. Wilhite, and all the students who worked hard throughout the 1st semester on Tuesdays after school.  We will continue to take educational field trips on Fridays as we did in the Fall to the Tulsa Gathering Place, OSU Class at the Court, and the OKC National Memorial.  We have trips planned this spring to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Museum and the National Weather Center in Norman.

We appreciate you working collaboratively with your student, his/her teachers, and all staff to ensure that your student is successful academically and behaviorally here at Bristow Middle School.  Our goals for our students continue to be the A,B, C's.  Attendance is the 1st priority in helping your child be successful here at school and later in life.  School begins at 8 am and students are expected to be on time with materials to all classes in which they attend.  Behavior in the classroom, hallways, athletic events, and on campus is also a one of our goals.  We follow the 6 Pillars of Character- Trustworthy, Respectful, Responsible, Fairness, Caring, Citizenship, and expect all students to adhere to these Pillars of Character in and out of the classroom.  Our third goal is Course Performance; teachers have worked very hard to ensure that all students are improving in all classes and monitor their progress continually to provide either enrichment or intervention for each individual student.  If you have any questions about how your student is progressing in a particular class, I encourage you to contact his/her teacher and discuss their performance.

We encourage parents to stay in contact with us by signing up for the BMS remind by texting @bristow16 to 81010.  You will receive weekly texts about upcoming events and things going on in and around Bristow Middle School.  You can also access your child's grades anytime through Wengage.  Directions for logging on can be found on the district website at  You can also contact us here at the MS for assistance with username or password.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
