Welcome Parents and Students!

There's nothing better than being a Bristow Purple Pirate!!  I'd like to welcome everyone back to school for 2016-2017; it's going to be an amazing year! We have a tremendous student body, staff, faculty, administration, and community.  I'm beginning my sixth year as a Purple Pirate and I'll be serving my second year as high school principal; last year was a great learning experience and I am eager to continue growing and moving forward at BHS.  I consider it an honor to serve our students, teachers and community; I look forward to the accomplishments we will enjoy together.

There have been a few changes as we head into the new school year, most notably the four day school week and the eight period class schedule.  I believe we can use both of these changes to our advantage and create a successful environment in which students and teachers can thrive. I can't stress enough how important it is to have your student at school, on time, Monday-Thursday; the first step to achieving classroom success is attendance, therefore, making sure your child is present sets them up for success in the classroom.  There is no way to maximize their classroom potential without being in the classroom consistently.  The addition of an eighth period, or FLEX period (4th period), will be beneficial to providing in school remediation and tutoring for students falling behind or struggling with core classes; in past years we have never had this capability.  Also, we have the ability to offer enrichment classes to students during FLEX period.

We have established strong goals for Bristow High School this year, being able to achieve these goals will only be possible through a strong relationship with parents and community.  We hope to provide a school culture where all students have a vested interest in our success, a place that "links learning to life" and each feels connected as a part of the Purple Pirate family.

I will be updating this website throughout the year and will provide links to various websites that may be helpful, so hopefully this site can be a source of information. See the related links below for additional information regarding Bristow High School; I encourage you to register to Remind 101 for the high school. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me at bpoteet@bristow.k12.ok.us or 918-367-2241. Thank you for your time, thank you for trusting us with your child, and Go Purple Pirates!!!
