Welcome Back BMS Students and Parents,

We are busy preparing for the 2018-19 school year and excited to have each of you back in the building.  It has been great seeing so many of you in the library this summer continuing to read and take care of your pre-ap requirements.  A reminder that students can continue to accumulate words by coming to the library, reading books, and taking and passing tests over those books.  Students who read 500,000 words prior to Thanksgiving Break will be attending an OKC Thunder game later this year. The top 16 readers will be sitting at courtside prior to the game as the Thunder warm-up as part of their Benchwarmer promotion.

I hope that everyone had an opportunity to spend some quality time with family and are prepared to get back to work on Friday, August 10th.  Our secretaries are in the office and ready to enroll new students to our district.  A reminder that any student entering the 7th grade will have to have a TDAP immunization documented on their shot records prior to being able to enroll.  You can receive these immunizations from your personal physician or the local health department.

We will have Meet the Teacher Night on Tuesday, August 7th from 4-6 for all students.  Students may pick up their schedules that evening or will need to pick them up on the 1st day of school if they are unable to attend.  BMS will host our 6th Grade Transition Camp also on Tuesday, August 7th from 8:30 am till 11:30 am for students here in the building.  School begins for all students on Friday, August 10th @ 8am promptly.

With the 4-day school week, ensuring students are at school and on time will be more important than ever.  The 1st bell rings at 7:55 am and 1st Hour begins at 8.  We encourage parents to ensure that your child is having breakfast either at home or here at school as lunch is not served until 12:25 pm daily.  Breakfast is served in our cafeteria beginning at 7:30 each morning. You can find the entire new bell schedule on the Middle School tab at

BMS offers many opportunities to get involved in various electives and activities and we hope that students take advantage of these such as: academic team, choir, band, spanish, STEM, computers, FACS, athletics, speech, ag, PE.  If you are interested in any of these classes, please contact Mrs. Shelly Plum, MS counselor.

We would like to welcome a few new staff members here at Bristow Middle School.  Mrs. Shelly Plum will be our new MS counselor and has 19 years experience all as a Bristow Pirate. Mrs. Samantha Thomas will be teaching 7th and 8th grade Reading after teaching previously at Moore Public Schools.  Mrs. Andra Hickman will be teaching our 6th-8th grade Reading and English classes and will be returning to the classroom after 19 years experience in Kellyville.  Mr. Sheldon Fairchild will also be joining our team and teaching 7th grade Geography as well as coaching baseball and softball at the HS.  Ms. Rachelle Blakely will be teaching MS/HS Agriculture after spending the last few years at Cheyenne High School. We are excited to have these outstanding individuals and educators join our team at BMS at look forward to having a great year.
