From the Principal's Pen
Dear Purple Pirate Families,
We are excited for the 2019-2020 school year! We are working toward another incredible and productive school year at Bristow High School. We have a staff of highly qualified professional educators and support personnel committed to providing our students a high-level learning experience to catapult them toward future success; we continually seek opportunities to connect learning with life.
Our relationship with the Bristow community and our parents is vital to any success we experience. Attendance is the primary factor in determining success at school; ensuring your student attends school each day on time is imperative. We strongly encourage parents to be an active participant in their student’s education and we value your involvement, input, and support. We are continually pressing forward, finding ways to create an academic learning experience that challenges our students to think, create and adjust. Character development is also a priority, operating and educating on the Six Pillars of Character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. We believe these traits will allow our students to be successful students and citizens in future endeavors.
We continue to develop each student’s Individual Career Academic Plan (ICAP), which allows students to create their own individualized, meaningful exploration of college and career opportunities. ACT improvement also continues to be a strong focus, for it is part of our state testing, but it could also lead to, and expand, postsecondary educational opportunities for students. Constantly engaging our students in postsecondary conversations is a high priority; we provide students with opportunities to look at life beyond high school, setting goals and establishing pathways to achieving those goals. We work for every student in our hallways and wish for each one to be successful; we celebrate success together. Together we can prepare them to take advantage when opportunities arise.
