7th graders had a visit last week from Finn, a miniature potty belly pig. Her visit turned into a grade level cross curricular project. In Math, students solved problems about purchasing ham at the store. In Reading, students read an informational article about how pigs behave to practice reading skills. In English students completed a mini-research assignment over pig breeds and wrote a descriptive paragraph using sensory language. Thanks to Mrs. Edens for bringing her new baby for us all to enjoy!

In Mrs. Edens's 7th grade English class, students have been learning about email etiquette all week. After learning the essential parts of an email and learning how to appropriately compose an email using proper language and tone, students worked in teams to draft an email message on these Super-Sized email templates. Their final assessment will be to compose a genuine email from their school gmail accounts and send it to Mrs. Edens.

Ms. Davis, our middle school band teacher and assistant high school band teacher, captured this awesome photo this morning. While the high school band practiced the national anthem, these students dropped what they were doing to salute the flag while it played! That makes us SO PROUD!

Each year our 8th graders have an opportunity to visit Central Tech to see the programs offered. It was a great trip today! We even found some of our former Pirate students that are now teaching at Tech and some of our current high school students in class! So many opportunities for our students and young adults!
