Ms. Stitt’s class had a magical Starry Night Day! 🌟📚 Students used flashlights to read their books in the dark, making reading feel extra fun and special. What a bright way to build a love for books! 🔦

🏅🎉 Get Ready for a FUN-FILLED Wednesday! 🎉🏅 This week, we’re bringing the excitement with our Little Olympics & Pre-K Color Run! Our Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students will be participating in our Little Olympics this Wednesday! 📍 Location: Football Field 🕘 Schedule: ✨ 9:00 AM – Opening Ceremonies ✨ 9:30 AM – Activity Stations ✨ 12:30–12:45 PM – Running Events (after lunch) We are so excited for a fun day full of teamwork, games, and Pirate pride! 💜💛 Our Pre-K littles will be having their very own Color Run! ⚪ Reminder: Please have your child wear a WHITE shirt so they can enjoy all the colorful fun! It’s going to be a bright, exciting day for our youngest Pirates! 🌈💜💛

🥣 5th Annual Cereal Box Challenge Success! 🥣 Today was our 5th Annual Cereal Box Challenge, and once again our students absolutely outdid themselves! 👏 This year, we collected 1,123 boxes of cereal—that’s 100 more than last year! These boxes will be donated to our local social services to help support families in our community. ❤️ 🍦 Ice Cream Party Winners: Mrs. Peterson’s 1st grade class brought in the most with an incredible 187 boxes! 🌟 Top Student Contributor: Lucky Mathis (Mrs. Peterson’s class) kicked off our domino run and brought an amazing 183 boxes! 🏆 Grade Level Winners: * Pre-K: Mrs. Fruits’ class * Kindergarten: Mrs. Baker’s class * 2nd Grade: Mrs. Dunbar’s class A huge THANK YOU to Social Services for helping us in advance, and to every student and family who donated cereal boxes. What do you do when your dad works at the State Capitol? You invite your whole class, of course! Mrs. Owens’ 1st grade class had an exciting trip to the Oklahoma State Capitol this Monday! Students explored the Senate and House floors, visited offices, and even had the incredible opportunity to meet Kevin Stitt. It was a memorable day full of learning and real-life connections to government in action!

Miss Peterson’s class had a blast during the Discovery Lab visit! Students were fully engaged as they explored hands-on activities and enjoyed learning through fun, interactive experiences. The excitement and curiosity in the room made it a wonderful day of discovery and learning! 🔬✨

🥣 It’s Time for Our 5th Annual Cereal Box Challenge! 🥣 This Wednesday, ECC & Edison will kick off our 5th Annual Cereal Box Challenge to support our local food pantry. This is a tradition we love because it teaches our students the joy of giving and helping our community. Last year, our families donated an amazing 1,023 boxes of cereal to Social Services — and we would LOVE to beat that number this year! 💜 Please don’t forget to send boxes of cereal with your student this week. Every box makes a difference and helps local families start their day with a meal. Thank you for always showing up for our community and helping us make this event bigger each year! 🥣💛

Our bus drivers are such an important part of our school family! 🚌 They are the first smiling faces to greet our students each morning and the last ones to send them home safely in the afternoon. Every single day they make sure our kids start and end their school day feeling safe, cared for, and welcomed. Rain or shine, early mornings and long afternoons — they show up with patience, kindness, and big hearts for our students. They truly help set the tone for a great day of learning! We are so thankful for the incredible bus drivers who take such amazing care of our Edison & ECC students. 💜💛 If you see your child’s bus driver, take a moment to share a smile, a thank you, or a note of appreciation. They deserve it more than you know! 🚌

Mrs. Burkhalter’s class also participated in Discovery’s visit and enjoyed rotating through exciting hands-on activities focused on Storm Science. Students explored how storms form, learned about different types of weather, and had fun discovering science through interactive learning stations. It was a wonderful day full of curiosity, exploration, and learning! 🌩️🌪️

Today at Edison, our Discovery follow-up visit from the grant we received at the beginning of the year took place! Mrs. Hewitt’s class, Mrs. Sexton’s class, and Mrs. Groves’ class had the opportunity to participate in engaging, hands-on activities all about storms. Students explored, asked questions, and learned through fun, interactive experiences that brought science to life. We are so grateful for opportunities like this that help spark curiosity and excitement for learning in our classrooms! 🌪️💡

Ms. Stitt’s class spread kindness today by making and delivering sweet cards to Mrs. Stice for Secretary’s Day! We are so thankful for all she does for Edison every single day. 💛

Earth Day fun at Edison! Mrs. Owens’ class got their hands messy making dirt cake to celebrate the day in the sweetest way! 🍫🪱 Groves’ class planted grass seeds to grow some silly “Earth Day hair.” 🌱💇‍♀️ Watching it grow will be the best part! Mrs. Sexton’s class created the cutest Lorax art projects while learning about saving our Earth and taking care of our planet. 🌍💚 Hands-on learning + creativity = the perfect Earth Day celebration!

Happy National Secretaries Day! Today we celebrate two very special people who keep our schools running smoothly every single day. From answering phones and helping families to keeping us organized and solving a million little problems behind the scenes — they truly do it all. At ECC, we are so thankful for Tracie Wilson, and at Edison, we are so grateful for Karen Stice. Both of these amazing ladies go above and beyond for our staff, students, and families. Our schools simply wouldn’t be the same without you. Thank you for everything you do! 💐

First grade is having SO much fun with word patterns! 🤓📚 They’ve been working on teams like -ui, -ew, -ue, and -oo, and Mrs. Espolt’s class took learning to a hilarious level. Yesterday, students walked around holding what everyone thought was snot in Kleenexes 🤢 — just to get everyone to shout “EWWWW!” (Talk about memorable learning!) Today, the fun continued with a special delivery for one of our Pre-K teachers, Mrs. Fruits 💌. We love seeing our big kids sharing smiles and spreading joy across grade levels. Way to make learning fun, First Grade! 💙

💧 Second Grade Science Club 💧 Our afterschool Science Club has been busy learning all about the water cycle! Students explored how water moves through evaporation, condensation, and precipitation while having fun with hands-on activities and experiments. We love seeing our young scientists stay curious and keep learning even after the school day ends! 🌧️☀️

Our 2nd graders had a very special visitor last week! 👑 Miss Oklahoma State Fair stopped by Edison to talk with students about what it means to Be a Builder — encouraging them to build their character, their goals, and their future. Students loved hearing her message and asking questions. Thank you for inspiring our Eagles to dream big and build strong foundations! 💛

✨ Last week, Mrs. Espolt’s first grade class got a special opportunity! They enjoyed a sneak peek at the Chrysler Tower before it opened to the public. What a fun and memorable experience for our students to explore and learn beyond the classroom! 💜
