Our 2nd graders shined on stage Tuesday at the Freeland Center with their delightful musical “Christmas Cookies.” 🍪🎄
A huge thank-you to our music teacher, Josi Morquecho, for leading such a sweet and festive performance!

All the fresh baked cookies are happy to be hanging out with the rest of their batch. The Gingerbread Boys and Girls, the Ginger Snaps, Lady Fingers, Shortbread and of course, the giggling Snickerdoodles!

But wait! Someone heard a rumor that they are all being taken to a Cookie Exchange! There, they will be separated from their familiar friends and forced to live with cookies so unlike themselves! What fun for children to dress up like their favorite cookies (Animal Crackers, Macaroons, Russian Tea Cakes and more) and
learn through participation in this musical the joy of meeting friends who may seem different than them. We are so proud of them!

🐄 Dairy Day at Edison! 🥛

Today we had a special visit from Suzie with Southwest Dairy Farmers, who brought her Mobile Dairy Classroom to our school! She introduced us to Dixie, her beautiful Jersey cow, and taught our students all about where milk comes from, how dairy farmers care for their cows, and why dairy products are such an important part of a healthy diet.

It was a fun and educational experience for everyone! A big thank you to Southwest Dairy Farmers for bringing this exciting and hands-on lesson to our school! 💛🐮

🍂 Crocktober at Edison Elementary! 🍲

On October 24th, our amazing teachers and staff celebrated our 2nd Annual Crocktober with a table full of delicious homemade dishes! From three kinds of meatballs to chicken and noodles, tortilla soup, hot brownies, caramel apple dump cake, pumpkin rolls, banana pudding, and cake—everything was absolutely yummy!

Everyone voted, and the winner of this year’s Crocktober was Jennifer Coon with her Slow Cooker Caramel Apple Dump Cake! 🏆 Mrs. Coon won a $25 Santa Fe Steakhouse gift card, generously provided by Mrs. Shelton.

We love events like this—nothing brings our Edison family together quite like good food and great fellowship! ❤️

Slow Cooker Caramel Apple Dump Cake Recipe

This Slow Cooker Caramel Apple Dump Cake Recipe might just be my easiest dessert recipe EVER! Just 5 ingredients and 5-minute prep and you've got a DELICIOUS ooey-gooey, Fall dessert.

Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 5 hours Ingredients
▢ 1 (20 oz) can apple pie filling you COULD use 2 if you want more apple, but I like 1
▢ ½ cup chopped pecans plus more for serving
▢ ½ cup jarred caramel ice cream topping plus more for serving
▢ 1 (15.25 oz) box spice cake mix or yellow cake mix (not made just the dry cake mix)
▢ 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter cubed
▢ Vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
Grease crockpot with cooking spray.
Dump in apple pie filling and spread with a spatula to evenly cover the bottom of the crockpot.
Top filling with pecans and then caramel.
Pour in cake mix and use your hands to spread it out evenly and gently press it down.
Top with cubed butter.
Cover and cook on LOW 4-6 hours (5 was perfect for me), or until cake is cooked to your liking.
Scoop and serve with vanilla ice cream and an extra sprinkle of pecans and drizzle of caramel.

Thank you so much for your support with our school fundraiser! We truly appreciate the time and effort you’ve put into helping us reach our goals.

Originally, fundraiser orders were due Tuesday, November 4th, but we’ve decided to extend the deadline to Thursday, November 6th to allow a little extra time for any last-minute orders to come in.

The funds raised will go directly toward bus expenses for school trips, special student activities, and other school expenses not covered by our regular budget. Your participation makes a real difference for our students and school community.

Checks may be made payable to Edison Elementary.

Thank you again for your continued support and generosity!
