Meet Our New Principal – Ms. Kristi Carter Hello, Edison families! My name is Kristi Carter, and I am excited and honored to join the Bristow family as the new principal at Edison Elementary. Education has always been my passion. I have had the opportunity to teach every grade from kindergarten through fifth grade and bring nine years of administrative experience serving as both an assistant principal and principal. Throughout my career, I have been privileged to work with students in general education, as well as self-contained and multi-age classrooms. I believe every child deserves to feel valued, supported, and inspired to succeed. Family is very important to me. I have two wonderful adult children. My daughter, Rylee, is a graduate of ORU and lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband, Dylan, and my precious granddaughter, Mabel, who recently celebrated her first birthday! My son, Rowan, recently earned his associate degree in Business from TCC and is currently volunteering and substitute teaching as he prepares for his next chapter. I am truly honored to become a Pirate and look forward to serving the students, staff, and families of the Bristow community. Please don’t hesitate to introduce yourself when you see me around campus or in the community. I can’t wait to build relationships and partner with you as we work together to make the 2026–2027 school year an incredible one! Together, we will make this a year of growth, success, and unforgettable memories. Go Pirates!

After 24 years in education, including 19 years teaching 2nd grade, this was Mrs. Hinson’s final promotion before retirement. 💜💛 For nearly two decades, Mrs. Hinson has helped shape the hearts and minds of so many Edison students. From teaching lessons in the classroom to creating memories that will last a lifetime, her impact will forever be part of the Edison family. As she closes this chapter and begins a new journey in retirement, we want to thank her for the love, dedication, and countless lives she has touched over the years. Please join us in wishing Mrs. Hinson a wonderful retirement filled with joy, relaxation, and many new adventures ahead! 🎉🍎✨

🎓💜 Today was Second Grade Promotion at Edison! 💛🎓 What a bittersweet moment as we celebrate our amazing second graders and all they have accomplished this year. While we are so excited for them to begin their next adventure at Collins, it’s hard to see them leave our Edison family. These students have grown so much, made wonderful memories, and left a special mark on our halls. Today we also recognized our Masonic Masonic Lodge Fraternity Teacher of the Day and Student of the Day for their hard work, leadership, and positive impact throughout the school year. We are so proud of each and every one of them! Congratulations, second graders — Collins is lucky to have you! Once a Pirate, always a Pirate! ☠️💜💛

Glow day fun in Mrs. Owens class today! ✨ Students had a bright time learning and making memories with all the glowing excitement. Meanwhile, Mrs. Espolt class was sprinkled with a little Disney magic during their Disney Day! 🏰❤️ From favorite characters to lots of smiles, it was a practically perfect day at Edison!

✨🌟 Mrs. Groves’ 1st grade class had a glowing good time during their Neon Glow Day! From bright colors to glowing fun, these students lit up the classroom with excitement, smiles, and lots of learning fun. What a great way to make special memories as we finish out the school year! 💛🩷💚💙

Camping, learning, and STEM fun in Mrs. Groves’ class! ⛺️🪵🔬 Students have been busy exploring, building, and using their imaginations through hands-on STEM activities with a camping theme. From creative building challenges to teamwork and problem-solving, learning has been an adventure! We love seeing our students engaged, thinking critically, and having fun while they learn. 💡✨

What a fun way to celebrate hard work and dedication! 🎉📚 These students reached an amazing 100 points in AR reading and earned a special limo cruise today! 🚘✨ We are so proud of their commitment to reading and all the effort they have put in throughout the year. Keep up the great work, readers — your Edison family is cheering you on every step of the way! 💜💛

The end of the school year fun is in full swing in 1st grade! ☀️💜💛 Students in Edison are making memories while still learning! Mrs. Burkhalter’s class enjoyed some “poolside” relaxation fun in the classroom, while Mrs. Groves ’ class put their measuring skills to work by seeing just how tall their crazy hair has grown! 📏😂 Hands-on learning, laughter, and lots of fun are the perfect way to wrap up an amazing year in 1st grade!

Today we want to give a HUGE shoutout to our amazing school nurse! 💜💛 From bumps and bruises to tummy aches, medications, hugs, and caring hearts — she does it all with kindness and compassion every single day. Thank you for taking care of our students and staff, for always being there when we need you, and for loving our kids like your own. ECC and Edison are beyond blessed to have such a dedicated nurse serving our schools. We greatly appreciate everything you do for our Pirate family! 🏴‍☠️🩺

Today’s King Pin Tournament came with a little extra fun for our ECC & Edison teachers… the “Anything But a Cup” challenge! 😂🥤 From buckets to bowls to who-knows-what, our staff got creative and brought lots of laughs to the tournament today! 💜💛 We love seeing our teachers make learning and school fun for our students — and maybe having a little fun themselves too! 👇 Comment below and tell us which “Anything But a Cup” creation was your favorite!

Sometimes the weather changes the plans… but not the fun! 💜💛 Since we couldn’t head to the football field for Little Olympics today, ECC & Edison made the best of it with a fun-filled King Pin Tournament in the gym! 🎳 Our students still had an amazing time cheering each other on, showing great sportsmanship, and making memories together. A little change in plans didn’t stop the fun at all! 😊
