See You at the Pole (SYATP) is a student led global day of prayer and unity in Christ, where students gather to pray for their schools, families, friends, churches, and communities. The event takes place annually on the fourth Wednesday in September, usually before school, and at the school's flag pole.
Edison had students who participated in leading this event this morning. It was a beautiful morning with beautiful weather.

Join us!

Learning is fun at Edison. While learning about the letter D, they also practiced learning the letters in their name.
Getting help from our High School Leadership students is icing on the cake!
Practice at home- letter names, placement, and the sounds the letters make. First and last names... all great skills for our tiny Pirates

This week at Edison Elementary.

We are excited for another great week of learning! We continue Literacy First testing this week, so be sure your student is at school each day. We are also participating in the Change for Change Challenge - collecting coins for. the Stephenson Cancer Center. Send all of your coins because we are having a grade level challenge to see who can collect the most money for a good cause! Here is this week's newsletter. https://secure.smore.com/n/b52sa Have a great week!!
Families,
We are excited to offer bigger, better Accelerated Reader incentives this year! We would like to take students on field trips for every goal (free of charge!). We will continue to offer prizes for goal increments, but would also like to acknowledge the 100 point club students with special medals and an exclusive field trip at the end of the year. We have decided to have our first ever Fundraiser outside of our popcorn sales. This is an exciting opportunity to purchase Bristow Pirate gear for a good cause! Blankets will arrive before Christmas -so think of all the gifts! All orders are due October 11th!
Dig in those couch cushions and find a quarter. Thursday, PreK will be conducting their annual cookie sale in the PreK Commons. Each year the students and teachers work hard with this to raise money that will be donated to the Children's Hospital at St. Francis in honor of our current and former students who have battled childhood cancer.
This is not just a great way to raise money, but a great teaching tool as well. Students get hands on practice with measuring ingredients, preparing the cookies, setting up lines, asking for money and handing out the cookies.
Quarters will be accepted, but please feel free to send any donations that you feel led to give. We will update with all of the fun on Thursday.
Lastly, each student at Edison will receive 1 cookie regardless of their ability to pay for one or not. We love this and every student will have an opportunity to enjoy this day.
