Just a small glimpse of our Counselor Appreciation Week! 1st grade lined the halls to show our 100 ways to love on our 100th day of school!

Edison students kicked off Black History Month with a powerful and inspiring presentation at the Freeland Center featuring Albert Bostick, a Governor’s Arts Award winner and recipient of a State Citation of Excellence for his work in education.
An accomplished storyteller, playwright, actor, and director, Mr. Bostick shared engaging stories—including Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears, tales of Anansi the Spider, and the legend of how the sun, moon, and stars found their place in the sky. His message was clear and uplifting: all children can learn once they remove “I can’t” from their vocabulary.
He closed the experience with a heartfelt lullaby his grandmother once sang to him after storytelling—leaving our students captivated, inspired, and reminded of the power of stories to teach, connect, and uplift. ✨📚

Mrs. Groves' First Graders are 100 Days brighter!

🎉💯 Mrs. B’s First Graders celebrated the 100th Day of School in style!
100 days smarter, 100 days kinder, and 100 days of growing together! 📚✨

The hearts on the map show which states have sent us a Valentine. If you have family or friends in the states that don’t have a heart please share this with them. Mrs. Espolt's First Grade class hopes to receive a Valentine from all 50 states!

Nothing warms a winter day like great books and creative kids! Mrs. Groves’ class brought Sneezy the Snowman to life with this precious craft—and it’s melting hearts all over our school ❄️❤️

Reminder, Bristow Public Schools will be in session tomorrow, January 30th as a snow make up day. We will also be in session next Friday, February 6th for our second make up day.

✨ 2nd Grade Spelling Bee 🐝✨
What an incredible spelling bee today! The competition was strong, but even more beautiful was the way our students supported one another—cheering, celebrating, and sharing pure joy when their friends spelled words correctly. 💛
The winning word was articulate (which is considered a word that every 11th grader should know how to spell), and the tie-breaker word was stealth.
🎉 Congratulations to our winners:
🥇 1st Place: Mazie
🥈 2nd Place: Reno
🥉 3rd Place: Bentley
These are some super smart kids, and we are so proud of each of them! 🌟
A huge thank you to the parents, grandparents, and friends who came out to cheer our students on—your support made the day extra special!

On a freezing cold day, Mrs. Stice surprised us with hot apple cider 🍎☕ She even made sure our admin team got to enjoy it too. Small gestures, big warmth—thank you, Mrs. Stice!

This was an extra special day!Mrs. Espolt's first grade teacher came to their classroom and read Stone Soup 🥣. Then she read a different version, and they compared and contrasted the two stories. To bring it all to life, they made their own delicious stone soup! Learning is better when stories, memories, and hands-on fun come together.
