After 24 years in education, including 19 years teaching 2nd grade, this was Mrs. Hinson’s final promotion before retirement. 💜💛
For nearly two decades, Mrs. Hinson has helped shape the hearts and minds of so many Edison students. From teaching lessons in the classroom to creating memories that will last a lifetime, her impact will forever be part of the Edison family.
As she closes this chapter and begins a new journey in retirement, we want to thank her for the love, dedication, and countless lives she has touched over the years.
Please join us in wishing Mrs. Hinson a wonderful retirement filled with joy, relaxation, and many new adventures ahead! 🎉🍎✨

🎓💜 Today was Second Grade Promotion at Edison! 💛🎓
What a bittersweet moment as we celebrate our amazing second graders and all they have accomplished this year. While we are so excited for them to begin their next adventure at Collins, it’s hard to see them leave our Edison family. These students have grown so much, made wonderful memories, and left a special mark on our halls.
Today we also recognized our Masonic Masonic Lodge Fraternity Teacher of the Day and Student of the Day for their hard work, leadership, and positive impact throughout the school year. We are so proud of each and every one of them!
Congratulations, second graders — Collins is lucky to have you! Once a Pirate, always a Pirate! ☠️💜💛

🥣 It’s Time for Our 5th Annual Cereal Box Challenge! 🥣
This Wednesday, ECC & Edison will kick off our 5th Annual Cereal Box Challenge to support our local food pantry. This is a tradition we love because it teaches our students the joy of giving and helping our community.
Last year, our families donated an amazing 1,023 boxes of cereal to Social Services — and we would LOVE to beat that number this year! 💜
Please don’t forget to send boxes of cereal with your student this week. Every box makes a difference and helps local families start their day with a meal.
Thank you for always showing up for our community and helping us make this event bigger each year! 🥣💛

Our bus drivers are such an important part of our school family! 🚌
They are the first smiling faces to greet our students each morning and the last ones to send them home safely in the afternoon. Every single day they make sure our kids start and end their school day feeling safe, cared for, and welcomed.
Rain or shine, early mornings and long afternoons — they show up with patience, kindness, and big hearts for our students. They truly help set the tone for a great day of learning!
We are so thankful for the incredible bus drivers who take such amazing care of our Edison & ECC students. 💜💛
If you see your child’s bus driver, take a moment to share a smile, a thank you, or a note of appreciation. They deserve it more than you know! 🚌

Mrs. Burkhalter’s class also participated in Discovery’s visit and enjoyed rotating through exciting hands-on activities focused on Storm Science. Students explored how storms form, learned about different types of weather, and had fun discovering science through interactive learning stations. It was a wonderful day full of curiosity, exploration, and learning! 🌩️🌪️
