Cultivating a positive classroom community is such an important part of teaching and Mrs. Lynn has created an amazing project to help her students see the best in themselves and their classmates. "The Best of Me" writing project Students were asked to think about the best part of themselves and then describe why what they selected was the best part of them. Students went through the writing process - creating a rough draft, editing, and rewriting. Once final drafts were approved, Mrs. Lynn sent them off to be published in a book. She also created a bulletin board to share their great work! We are excited to see their books! We love they are building each other up and seeing each other in a positive light! Great work, Mrs. Lynn's class!

Mrs. Hinson's 2nd Grade class completed a hands-on project that is an engaging design challenge that allows students to learn how to do research, apply the engineering design process, and connect to a real-world STEM career. Students researched biomes (temperate forest, rainforest, tundra, taiga, desert, freshwater, ocean, and grassland), what plants and animals live in each one, and some adaptations associated with the wildlife in that biome. Students presented their research to the class and completed dioramas with their families. This project connects to the career of wildlife biology and its role in protecting and conserving animal habitats. Check out these amazing dioramas! Great work, Mrs. Hinson's Class!

PreK and Kindergarten students learned all about Chick Embryology today thanks to Randi Hill's Chick Embryology Program from the OSU Extension. Mrs. Hill's daughter, Riley, is a member of 4-H at Bristow High School and brought a special guest, Darlin', a Cochin Bantam Chicken. Mrs. Hill surprised us all with another special guest, Freckles, a Black East Indie Duck. Mrs. Hill left fertilized eggs and an incubator for us to grow and hatch some baby chicks! Stay tuned for updates! We will have baby chicks in 21 days! Thank you for sharing this amazing program with us! We are excited to watch our little chicks develop and grow!
