📸✨ Picture Day Reminder! ✨📸
Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow is Picture Day!
Please try to avoid wearing green if at all possible so our smiles shine bright in every photo! 😁
We can’t wait to see all of those sweet, dressed-up faces! 💛

🧦✨ S is for SILLY SOCKS! ✨🧦
Today in Pre-K, we had so much fun celebrating the letter S by wearing our silliest socks! 🎉
We saw stripes, sparkles, superheroes, and even some super silly mismatched socks! Our students were smiling, showing, and sharing all about their special socks.
We practiced saying the /s/ sound, talked about words that start with S, and of course… showed off our SOCK style! 😄
Learning is always more fun when it’s a little silly! 💛🧦

Jones’ class had the sweetest Presidents’ Day celebration! 🇺🇸❤️
They learned about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, then created the cutest presidential crafts! ✂️🎨
From George’s wig to Abraham’s tall hat and beard, our little learners worked so hard coloring, cutting, and putting all the pieces together. We love mixing history with hands-on fun! ❤️🤍💙

Mrs. Shironaka’s class celebrated Pancake Day in the most delicious way — by cooking and enjoying pancakes together! 🥞
They put their math skills to work measuring ingredients, used their reading skills to follow the recipe, and practiced social skills by working as a team to prepare our lunch.
The fun didn’t stop there! They also sharpened their coloring and cutting skills as they designed frying pans and pancakes for their very own Pancake Race. The race followed the tradition of the famous International Pancake Race held each year in Liberal and Olney on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday — also known as Fat Tuesday.
What a fun (and tasty!) way to learn together! 🥞✨

Happy Valentine's Day!

All Valentines for ECC students should be delivered to the Kindergarten Literacy Lab between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Thank you for your help!
R is for… REINDEER! 🦌
Today our ECC Pre-K students took learning to the next level as we explored the letter R with a very special visitor—Rose the Reindeer from the Reindeer Club!
At ECC, learning doesn’t just happen inside the classroom. We are proud to offer our students unique, hands-on experiences that make learning meaningful, memorable, and FUN. From special visitors to real-life connections, our kids are given opportunities that spark curiosity and excitement every single day.
So if your child came home saying they saw a reindeer on the playground today… it’s absolutely true! 😄
A huge thank you to Nick Ledbetter with the Reindeer Club for sharing Rose with our students and helping make this day one they’ll never forget. Experiences like this are what make ECC such an amazing place to learn and grow! 💛

💗 Counselor Appreciation Week at ECC 💗 Today we wore pink and red to shower Mrs. Wayland with love! Our students colored special pictures just for her, and the ECC staff surprised her with flowers to show how much she is appreciated. We are so thankful for the love, care, and kindness she shares with our school every day! 💐

💜Counselor Appreciation Week at ECC💜
Today, our staff enjoyed a potluck lunch in honor of our amazing counselor, Mrs. Wayland. We truly appreciate everything she does to support our students, staff, and families each and every day. Her kindness, dedication, and caring heart make a meaningful difference in our school community.
We’ve also shared a few fun facts to help everyone get to know Mrs. Wayland a little better! In addition, Mrs. Wayland has an Amazon Wish List linked below for anyone who would like to help support her work with our students. Any contribution is greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Mrs. Wayland, for all that you do for ECC—we are so grateful for you! 💜

🎩 Counselor Appreciation Week at ECC 🎩 Today we wore hats to celebrate Mrs. Wayland — because HATS OFF to Mrs. Wayland! Thank you for all you do to support, encourage, and care for our students every day. ECC is so lucky to have you! 💜

From sketches to sculptures to stories, Mrs. Mattox’s class has been bringing creativity to life! Students first collaborated with the high school art class to transform their monster drawings into clay sculptures. Today, they partnered with the high school English department to write imaginative stories about their monsters. These meaningful, cross-curricular collaborations encourage creativity, communication, and connections across grade levels.

💜Counselor Appreciation Week at ECC💜
“Mrs. Wayland is nice.”
“She reads to us.”
“She makes me feel better.”
“She’s funny.”
“She has ears.”
These are just a few of the reasons our students adore Mrs. Wayland. We are so thankful for the love, comfort, and joy she brings to ECC every single day! 💜

100 Days Smarter & 100 Days Cuter! 🎉
Today we celebrated the 100th Day of School, and our students showed up in the most adorable ways! Some dressed like they were 100 years old, and others proudly wore 100 items on their shirts. From gray hair and canes to buttons, stickers, and snacks — our hallways were filled with creativity, laughter, and lots of counting!
We are 100 days stronger, smarter, and more confident learners. We can’t wait to see what the next 100 days bring! 💛📚
🐾 Reminder for Pre-K families: Tomorrow we celebrate 101 Days of School — dress your little ones in black and white as we turn into Dalmatians for 101 Dalmatians! 🖤🤍

💛 Counselor Appreciation Week (Feb. 2–6) 💛
ECC is so thankful for Mrs. Wayland! Today we showed our appreciation by wearing orange—because orange you glad she’s our counselor? 🧡
We are so blessed to have someone who cares so deeply for our students and families.

Mrs. Lomenick’s class is snow writing their sight words and decodable words! ❄️✏️ A fun and engaging way to build early literacy skills.

🌤️🐿️ Groundhog Day Fun! 🐿️🌤️
Groundhog Day is this coming Monday, and today Mrs. Mattox and Mrs. Watts’s classes got a head start by creating adorable little groundhogs and making predictions about whether Punxsutawney Phil will see his shadow or not. This fun, hands-on activity sparked great conversations and excitement as students learned all about this favorite tradition!
