✨ Teaching + Teamwork + The Letter T = Total Success! ✨
Mrs. Grooms’ Leadership class with FCCLA had an assessment to create toys that teach — and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect!
Our Pre-K students in Mrs. Mattox’s class are learning all about the letter T, so Mrs. Grooms partnered with them for some hands-on, interactive fun!
Her students designed 5 different learning games that focused on teaching skills in creative, engaging ways. Our little learners rotated through each game, practicing different learning skills while building confidence, communication, and teamwork. 🎲🧩
There is something so special about older students creating meaningful learning experiences for our youngest ECC Pirates. The smiles, encouragement, and excitement in the room said it all!
Way to go, FCCLA and Pre-K! 💛
Learning is always better together!

☕✨ T is for TEA PARTY! ✨☕
You just can’t get any better than this! Our teachers are creating the sweetest, most memorable moments for our students. 💛
Mrs. Watts’ class wrapped up Letter T week in the most terrific way — with a Tea Party for T! 🎉 Students came dressed in their fanciest attire, ready for an afternoon full of tiny cups, big smiles, and lots of giggles.
There’s something so special about watching our little learners practice manners, friendship, and fun — all while celebrating a letter of the alphabet. These are the moments they’ll remember. 🫖💐
We are so proud of the joy happening inside our classrooms every single day!

🧸🚗 Pre-K Takes on Route 66! 🚗🧸
Mrs. Mattox’s and Mrs. Watts’ classes took a short walk down the road to visit the Bristow Route 66 Toy Museum — a hidden treasure right here in our community!
Owned by Brett Fadley and Lynette Fadley, the museum features nearly 1,000 toys on display, some dating back to the 1930s. The Fadleys have been collecting for over 45 years!
Mr. Fadley even shared his favorite childhood toy — a stuffed dog named Oscar he received as a Christmas gift around 1965. ❤️
Our students searched for the smallest toy, biggest toy, and oldest toy as part of our Letter T learning. What a fun way to explore history right in our own backyard!

🦕 Dino-Mite Learning in Kindergarten! 🦖
In Miss Baker’s kindergarten class, students are learning all about dinosaurs through hands-on, engaging centers!
From digging for fossils, to building dinosaur habitats, to reading dino stories and sorting by size, our young paleontologists are exploring, creating, and discovering at every station.
These centers help build teamwork, problem-solving skills, reading readiness, math thinking, and creativity — all while having ROAR-ing fun!
Kindergarten is dino-mite at ECC! 🦴✨

🦖 Paleontologist for a Day! 🦴
Today in Mrs. Balenti's, they became junior paleontologists! Our little explorers carefully “dug” out dinosaur “bones” — also known as chocolate chips — from their excavation sites (aka cookies! 🍪).
They talked about how real paleontologists have to dig slowly and carefully so they don’t break the fossils. Our students practiced patience, fine motor skills, and self-control while excavating their tasty treasures!
Learning + hands-on fun + chocolate = a ROAR-ing good day in ECC🦕✨

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY!!
Kindergarten/T1 Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum Field Trip
Please read the attached note for more details.

🚛✨ T is for TRASH TRUCK! ✨🚛
This week in Pre-K, they are learning all about the letter T, and today they had a very special visitor… a real TRASH TRUCK!
Our students were so excited to see the big truck up close and learn how it works. They talked about trash, trucks, and the important people who help keep our community clean. This hands-on experience made learning the letter T extra fun and memorable!
There were lots of wide eyes, big smiles, and excited waves as the truck showed us its awesome features. What a terrific way to learn about the letter T!
Thank you to our local trash service for taking the time to visit our little learners! ♻️💚

🏃♀️💚 This Week in PE at ECC! 💚🏃♂️
Our kindergarten students have been working hard on TEAMWORK — and they put their skills to the test with a fun game called “Cross the River!” 🌊
Using “lily pads,” students had to work together to safely cross the river without falling in! 🐸 The catch? They had to communicate, cooperate, and problem-solve as a team to make it to the other side.
We saw:
✨ Encouragement
✨ Leadership
✨ Listening skills
✨ Strategic thinking
✨ Lots of smiles and laughter!
We love watching our little learners build strong bodies AND strong teamwork skills. Way to go, Kindergarten! 👏💚

We saw stripes, sparkles, superheroes, and even some super silly mismatched socks! Our students were smiling, showing, and sharing all about their special socks.
We practiced saying the /s/ sound, talked about words that start with S, and of course… showed off our SOCK style! 😄
Learning is always more fun when it’s a little silly! 💛🧦

Jones’ class had the sweetest Presidents’ Day celebration! 🇺🇸❤️
They learned about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, then created the cutest presidential crafts! ✂️🎨
From George’s wig to Abraham’s tall hat and beard, our little learners worked so hard coloring, cutting, and putting all the pieces together. We love mixing history with hands-on fun! ❤️🤍💙

Mrs. Shironaka’s class celebrated Pancake Day in the most delicious way — by cooking and enjoying pancakes together! 🥞
They put their math skills to work measuring ingredients, used their reading skills to follow the recipe, and practiced social skills by working as a team to prepare our lunch.
The fun didn’t stop there! They also sharpened their coloring and cutting skills as they designed frying pans and pancakes for their very own Pancake Race. The race followed the tradition of the famous International Pancake Race held each year in Liberal and Olney on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday — also known as Fat Tuesday.
What a fun (and tasty!) way to learn together! 🥞✨

Happy Valentine's Day!

All Valentines for ECC students should be delivered to the Kindergarten Literacy Lab between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Thank you for your help!
R is for… REINDEER! 🦌
Today our ECC Pre-K students took learning to the next level as we explored the letter R with a very special visitor—Rose the Reindeer from the Reindeer Club!
At ECC, learning doesn’t just happen inside the classroom. We are proud to offer our students unique, hands-on experiences that make learning meaningful, memorable, and FUN. From special visitors to real-life connections, our kids are given opportunities that spark curiosity and excitement every single day.
So if your child came home saying they saw a reindeer on the playground today… it’s absolutely true! 😄
A huge thank you to Nick Ledbetter with the Reindeer Club for sharing Rose with our students and helping make this day one they’ll never forget. Experiences like this are what make ECC such an amazing place to learn and grow! 💛
