The Fine Arts staff and students have a busy October planned, with several key events on the horizon. The group looks forward to setting A NEW STANDARD for creating, competing, and celebrating the arts.
THIS OCTOBER:
🎭 HS One Act: The team hosts AND competes at the Regional One Act competition, aiming to advance to State for the fifth year in a row.
🎺 Band: The Pirate Pride competes at the OSSAA Regional Marching Contest, striving to bring home Superior ratings.
🎤 Choir: Five students will represent BPS in the Eastern District Honor Choir after being selected from hundreds of contenders.
🎨 Visual Art: BHS art classes are creating a custom exhibition themed around this year’s One Act production, Frankenstein, which will be on display during the performance later this month.
“Setting a New Standard” is the newly adopted motto of the BPS Fine Arts Department: a standard of excellence, commitment, determination, and creativity. It is not only a benchmark for future Pirates to uphold, but a beacon for schools across the state to look toward.

But please know—it is NOT cancelled! 💜📚 We will be rescheduling for a later date, and we’re going to use the extra time to make it even bigger and better than we originally planned!
Teachers, would you please send this information out through Rooms to your students and parents? Even better, if we could possibly have a district-wide message sent to families, I would greatly appreciate it. We want to make sure no one shows up at the field this evening expecting the event.
And a HUGE thank you to everyone who has helped us prepare, donated books, promoted the event, volunteered, offered to participate, or planned to attend tonight. The amount of support we have received from our school and community has been incredible!
Our students have put so much heart into this event, and we aren't giving up on it because of a little Oklahoma weather. 😊

• Pirate Pride Marching Band: Placed 3rd in Class at the Haskell Invitational!
• Vocal Music: 5 students auditioned for the competitive Eastern District Honor Choir in Muskogee and ALL 5 made the choir!
At Bristow Public Schools, we want our students to have every chance to excel and be recognized for great things. We are so proud of these students for representing our community with skill, character, and determination.

Bristow Public Schools was recently made aware of a social media post referencing BPS alongside several other school districts across the state. Law enforcement has investigated and determined that this threat originated in the UK..
Out of an abundance of caution, the Bristow Police Department has been notified and will be actively patrolling our school sites.
The safety and security of our students and staff remain our highest priority. Should circumstances change or additional information become available, we will notify families promptly.
