Please help us welcome Josi Morquecho to the Bristow staff. Josi will be teaching music this year. She will be at Edison the first semester and will move to Collins after the Christmas break.
Josi is a proud graduate of Northeastern State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance. She grew up right here in Bristow, and is incredibly excited to be back in the community that helped shape who she is today.
Although she began teaching elementary music at the end of last semester, this will be her first full year in the classroom—and she couldn’t be more excited to share her love of music with our students. Josi is passionate about education and committed to supporting the growth and development of every child. Her goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and inspiring learning environment, where students feel encouraged to express themselves and reach their full potential.
When Josi is not at school, you can find her making coffee, doing puzzles, reading, or spending time with wonderful friends and family. Josi is looking forward to this upcoming year, and all the things that come along with it!

Please help us welcome Harlie Webb to the Bristow Staff. Harlie will be teaching physical education this year.
Harlie graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She began teaching physical education here in January and will continue doing so this year for her first full year. Harlie grew up in Bristow and says that she is excited to give back to her community by teaching alongside teachers and staff that taught her to strive for excellence from a young age!
Harlie says her goals are to create an environment that encourages students to be confident, engaged, and active. She believes that physical education is more than physical fitness, but about character development, teamwork, and respect. She says she strives to ensure that every student is offered the opportunity to succeed, feel valued, and encouraged to participate and grow in their own way.
Outside of the classroom you can find Harlie doing anything outdoors, reading, painting, or spending time with her family and friends. Harlie is excited to further her involvement in the upcoming school year and to continue growing as part of the pirate community!

Rachel is a proud graduate of Texas Women University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in the Science of Education. She grew up in Texas and moved to Bristow about three years ago and has loved the community ever since.
Rachel has been a kindergarten teacher for two years in Oklahoma City and has decided to join the Bristow family as a first grade teacher. She looks forward to the change and is excited to be more connected to the community she calls home.
When Rachel is not at school, she is hanging out with her husband and kids, playing outside, and going to Texas to visit her family. Rachel is looking forward to the upcoming school year and all the new students she will meet this year.

Her favorite hobbies are reading and writing, She won the Rural Oklahoma Poetry Museum’s Poetry Contest in 2021. She loves anything and everything related to pugs, leopard print, or the color pink.

Graduating from Fort Hays State University, Allison earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, with a Minor in Special Education. She has her ESOL endorsement and is Certified in LETRS. This will be her 11th year teaching, with nine of those years teaching in Western Kansas. She has taught PreK, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 4th grade. First grade is her favorite and she is looking forward to beginning her 8th year in First!
Allison grew up in a small Kansas town and is excited to join the Bristow community. She can't wait to meet her students and welcome them into her classroom, where she will work with each student to gain a love of learning, leading to growth not only academically but personally as well.
You can usually find Allison outside creating gardening projects if she isn't curled up with a great book and a cup of tea! She also enjoys fishing, sewing and going on trips with her husband and step son!

Welcome to Collins Elementary! We want to give a huge Bristow welcome to Paike McNiel. Paike will will be joining our fifth grade team to teach science and US History. Paike graduated from Southwest Baptist University with her elementary education degree and this will be her second year teaching the 5th grade. Paike says, "I grew up in Bristow, so I'm especially excited to be back in the community that shaped me. I’m passionate about creating a positive, supportive classroom where students feel seen, encouraged, and are excited to learn and grow". Outside of school, you can find her feeding cattle, worshipping at church, grabbing ice cream, reading a good book, traveling, or spending time with friends and family. Paike is so thankful for the opportunity to teach and make a difference here in her hometown. Welcome again, Miss McNiel!

On the teachers' last day of school, we always honor the hard work of educators across the district.
This year, we added a Rising Star Award for any teacher new to the district who is doing great work. Our first set of Rising Stars are Harlie Webb (Edison), Ashley Whitehouse (Collins), Jennifer Medlock (Middle School), and Chapman Shields (High School). Congratulations and thank you for your committment to our kids!

Stop by the HS to honor our retirees until 4 pm today!

Join us this Sunday to honor the years of hardwork and dedication each of these educators have contributed to our students. The reception will be Sunday, April 27 in the HS Commons from 2-4 PM.

BPS will soon have BusRight in place for all of our buses that transport students from home and school. This system will allow parents of students who ride our buses the ability to get real time GPS and transportation updates right from an app. Parents who have students who ride a bus can expect an email with directions on how to download the app. The email will only be sent to parents who have children who ride the bus. BPS is excited to provide this platform to our parents!

Just a reminder that school WILL be in session this Friday, April 4th. It is a make up snow day.
