Our Book Blast fundraiser books have arrived! 📚✨ Students were so excited to look through their new books and take them home to enjoy.
Thank you to everyone who donated and supported this fundraiser. Because of your generosity, we were able to put books into the hands of every student. Your support truly makes a difference! 💛

🌟ECC Teacher & Support Staff of the Year
We are so proud to celebrate two incredible members of our ECC family who make a difference every single day!
Support Staff of the Year – Tracy Wilson
Tracy has been with Bristow Public Schools for 12 years and says the office is where she truly feels at home. She feels blessed to work alongside coworkers she calls family, loves helping wherever she can, and especially enjoys working with the children. One thing she knows for sure — life at school is never boring!
ECC Teacher of the Year – Kelli Schonfield
Kelli has dedicated 24 years to Bristow Public Schools (21 years teaching and 3 years as an assistant). She loves teaching Pre-K because she gets to be a child’s very first teacher and help spark a love of learning from the very beginning. From the excitement of writing their name for the first time to watching students realize they can do anything they set their minds to, Kelli says she has just as much fun as her students do. She also feels blessed to work with coworkers she proudly calls family.
Congratulations to both of these amazing women! 💜 We are so lucky to have you at ECC!

Mrs. Jones’ kindergarten class has been exploring community helpers and careers, and this week they blasted off into learning about astronauts! 🚀 Students created their very own rockets and had a great time launching them while learning about force and gravity. Hands-on fun and learning made this activity out of this world! 🌟

Our ECC students are loving these windy days! 🌬️💙
A few of our Pre-K classes have been taking full advantage—creating colorful windsocks and heading outside to fly kites. Hands-on learning + fresh air = the best kind of day! 🪁✨

Today was full of hands-on learning and BIG excitement at ECC!
We were thrilled to have Discovery Lab visit for their Fantastic Forces program. Today, Mrs. Watts’ class, Mrs. Balenti’s class, and Mrs. Shironaka’s class had the opportunity to explore the power of push and pull, motion, and energy through fun, interactive experiments that had everyone engaged and thinking like little scientists.
This visit is part of a special follow-up from our grant opportunity earlier this year, when our students were able to visit Discovery Lab in person. From now until the end of the school year, every classroom will get to experience this amazing program!
From predicting outcomes to testing ideas, our students were all in and loving every minute of discovery. Experiences like this truly bring learning to life and spark curiosity in the best way! 🔬✨

Spring Break is coming to an end, and we can’t wait to welcome our students back! 🌸
Let’s finish this school year strong—full of learning, laughter, and lots of memorable moments. The best is still yet to come at ECC! 💛📚
Even ECC teachers know how to have a little fun! 🍀
Yesterday we had three sneaky little leprechauns on the loose at our site, and our staff was on a mission to find them! After lots of searching, a few close calls, and some serious detective work, three lucky staff members tracked them down and won a prize.
No staff members were harmed in the search… although there were definitely a few close calls and some very competitive leprechaun hunters. 😄
Thanks to everyone who joined in the fun and helped make our school such a joyful place!

All Things St. Patrick’s Day at ECC! 🍀🌈
Our ECC was full of St. Patrick’s Day excitement today! Some classes became little scientists, exploring the special rocks our mischievous leprechauns left behind and discovering the surprises hidden inside. 🔬✨
Our kindergarten students were busy designing clever leprechaun traps in hopes of catching the tricky little visitors. Others showed their creativity by drawing the cutest leprechaun pictures you’ve ever seen! 🎨
From science experiments to creative art and imaginative trap building, it was a magical day of learning, laughter, and a little bit of leprechaun mischief across our ECC. We love seeing our students have so much fun while learning! 🍀💚🌈

☔️ Umbrella Parade Fun! ☔️
Our Pre-K friends wrapped up the week learning all about the letter U… and what better way to celebrate than with an Umbrella Parade! 🌈
With umbrellas held high, our little learners marched proudly around the block showing off their colorful umbrellas while practicing their U words like umbrella, up, and under. It was the perfect mix of learning, movement, and fun!
There’s nothing better than seeing our students excited about learning—U is for unforgettable memories! 💙📚

Today in Mrs. Baker’s class they had a “Grab a Book and Go” reading time! 📚
Students picked a book and found a cozy spot anywhere in the classroom to sit and read. From the carpet to the corners, everyone found their own special place to enjoy a good story. It was so fun seeing our little readers getting comfortable and exploring books in their own way. Moments like these help grow a love for reading!

Pre-K students will soon begin their “Milkweed in the Classroom” project right after spring break! Today we had a special guest speaker, Laura, the Oklahoma & Southern Kansas Regional Field Representative for Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever, visit our classes.
She talked with our Pre-K students and T-1 about the importance of pollination and helped them learn about the many pollinators that help our environment, including bees, butterflies, insects, and other beneficial bugs. The students loved learning how these tiny creatures play a big role in helping plants grow and keeping our ecosystems healthy.
We appreciate Laura taking the time to come share her knowledge with our students and help kick off our upcoming classroom project! 🌼🐝🦋🌱

It's that time of year! Just a reminder that the Pre-K storm shelter, located at 119 W 9th, will be open whenever 1) there's a severe thunderstorm warning two counties away, or 2) there's a tornado warning in Creek County.

Our Book Blast has officially come to an end! 📚✨

Mrs. Keli’s and Mrs. Plum’s classes had a Seuss-tastic time celebrating Dr. Seuss! 📚💚
After reading the classic story Green Eggs and Ham, the students rolled up their sleeves and made their own green eggs and ham. The kids had so much fun trying the silly snack inspired by the book!
Just like in the story, many of them discovered they liked it — “Yes! I like green eggs and ham!” 🥚💚
It was a fun and tasty way to bring reading to life in the classroom! 📖✨

Day 4 of Read Across America — celebrating Dr. Seuss! 📚🎉
Today was Pajama Thursday — Snuggle Up with a Good Book! Students came to school in their cozy pajamas and enjoyed reading together throughout the day.
Our students have loved all the fun activities and the wonderful Dr. Seuss books we have shared this week. It has been a fun and engaging way to celebrate reading and encourage a love for books!

❤️ Because We’re Bristow

Thank You, Bristow Noon Lions Club! 👓
Today, our Pre-K students received free vision screenings provided by the Bristow Noon Lions Club — a service they have generously offered our students for several years.
Using specialized photographic screening equipment, Lions Club members screened students (with parent consent) for possible vision concerns, including farsightedness, astigmatism, and other eye conditions. Early detection plays an important role in helping children succeed both in and out of the classroom.
We are incredibly thankful for the Bristow Noon Lions Club’s continued support of our students and families. Their dedication — including helping children obtain glasses when needed — truly makes a difference in our community!

Mrs. Beard’s class had so much fun celebrating Dr. Seuss by enjoying Green Eggs and Ham! 💚🥚📚
Students explored a classic story while trying a fun themed treat — a perfect way to bring reading to life!

Day 3 of Read Across America Week — celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday! 📚🎉

😴📖 Tomorrow is Pajama Thursday! Snuggle up in your pajamas and bring a good book as we continue our Read Across America celebration.
We are loving all the excitement and smiles this week! ❤️
