We loved welcoming JACOP Yingst to Edison! 💙
JACOP visited Mrs. Owen’s class to read to students and share about cerebral palsy, helping bring awareness and understanding in a meaningful way. Our students enjoyed the story time and learning how we can celebrate and support one another’s differences.

Mrs. Balenti’s class added a little color to snack time! 🌈🥣
Students had so much fun making edible rainbows using Fruit Loops and marshmallows. This hands-on snack was a sweet way to practice patterns of a rainbow, colors, and creativity while enjoying a tasty treat together! 💛

Ahoy, ECC families! 🏴☠️
Our little Pre-K pirates had a swashbuckling week sailing through the letter X! They practiced their X words, made their own X marks, and sharpened their treasure-hunting skills.
To finish the week, our crew followed clues all around the school on a grand adventure to discover where X marked the spot… and they found their pirate treasure! 🗺️💰
We loved watching our tiny treasure hunters in action! ⚓️

Today our ECC students had a special visitor! 🐣
Randi Hill with 4-H Youth Development from the Oklahoma State University Extension in Creek County came to help us get our incubator set up for our egg hatching project!
Students learned fun facts about eggs and chickens, what chicks need to grow, and what we can expect over the next few weeks as we watch this amazing life cycle happen right in our classroom.
We are so excited to begin this hands-on learning experience and can’t wait to share updates as our chicks start to hatch! 🐥💛

📢 Pre-K Enrollment Days Are Here!
The next two days are Pre-K enrollment and screening days.
Please make plans to bring your child with you to your appointment.
📄 Important Reminder:
You must bring ALL required documents listed on the flyer.
Without these documents, your child cannot be enrolled.
We can’t wait to meet our newest Pre-K students and families! 💛

Today our Pre-K students were supposed to visit our local nursing home for their annual Easter egg hunt, but the rain left the yard flooded. They improvised and held an Easter egg hunt from classroom to classroom instead! 🐣 The kids had a blast searching each classrooms and still got to enjoy all the Easter fun.
A big thank you to our local nursing home for generously donating all of the eggs and candy to make this day so special for our students! 💕

Mrs. Balenti’s class is making math extra sweet this week! 🌈🐰
Students had Easter fun graphing jelly beans and turning math into a hands-on learning adventure. From sorting by color to counting and comparing, these little mathematicians were busy building their graphing skills one jelly bean at a time.
Who knew math could be this delicious? 💛

Today, our principal, Mrs. Adams, proudly represented Edison Early Childhood Center (ECC) as she spoke at the Lions Club meeting in Bristow, Oklahoma. She shared the story behind our school’s success with the All-In Spirit Flag, which we have earned more than once across the district. This recognition reflects our strong commitment to student attendance, ongoing professional development, meaningful community involvement, and outstanding Pirate pride.
During her presentation, she highlighted what makes ECC so special—not just our achievements, but the people and partnerships that make them possible. She expressed deep appreciation for the Bristow Lions Club and the many ways they have continuously supported our school and students.
She also spoke from the heart about how much she loves being part of ECC, emphasizing how our staff and families work together to give back to the community. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the strong connection between our school and the Bristow community and to share the pride we all feel in being “All-In.”

Today is National Paraprofessional Day, and here at ECC we are celebrating some of the very BEST! 💜
Our paraprofessionals play an essential role in our classrooms every single day. From supporting learning, helping students stay engaged, guiding small groups, offering encouragement, and jumping in wherever they’re needed — their impact is felt in every hallway and every classroom.
Because of their dedication, our students are supported, confident, and ready to learn. We truly could not do what we do without them.
Please join us in saying THANK YOU to our incredible ECC paraprofessionals for the heart, patience, and care they bring to our students each day! 👏🍎

W is for WORM 🪱✨
Mrs. Keli’s and Mrs.Fruits Pre-K class had a wiggly, wonderful time learning the letter W today! Students explored, observed, and even got to hold live worms while learning all about these tiny helpers that live in the soil.
Hands-on learning makes the best memories, and our little learners were full of curiosity, bravery, and lots of giggles! 💚
Way to go, Mrs. Keli’s class! #PreKFun #LetterW #HandsOnLearning

Today was a BIG day at ECC! 🌱
Nine of our classes helped plant the seeds for our Milkweed Project that we received last month. We first completed the cold stratification stage, and today was finally planting day! We planted two different types of milkweed and the students were so excited to get their hands in the soil and be part of this process.
This project was made possible thanks to a grant sponsored by the Deep Fork Canadian Quail Forever Chapter. We are so grateful for their support in helping our students learn about plants, habitats, and caring for the environment. 🌼🦋
We can’t wait to watch our milkweed grow!

🦕 Dino-mite Day in Mrs. Plum’s Class! 🦕
The little paleontologists hatched dinosaur eggs 🥚 and dug up some amazing fossils! From cracking eggs to examining their “prehistoric” treasures, these students had a roaring good time exploring the world of dinosaurs. 🦖✨

Pre-K had a VERY exciting week learning the letter V! 🌋
Our classes explored volcanoes and discovered how they erupt. From learning new vocabulary to hands-on activities, our little learners had a blast making connections and watching their learning “erupt”! 💥

Mrs. Balenti’s class is diving into the water cycle and having a blast learning how water moves around our planet! 💧🌎

Our Book Blast fundraiser books have arrived! 📚✨ Students were so excited to look through their new books and take them home to enjoy.
Thank you to everyone who donated and supported this fundraiser. Because of your generosity, we were able to put books into the hands of every student. Your support truly makes a difference! 💛

🌟ECC Teacher & Support Staff of the Year
We are so proud to celebrate two incredible members of our ECC family who make a difference every single day!
Support Staff of the Year – Tracy Wilson
Tracy has been with Bristow Public Schools for 12 years and says the office is where she truly feels at home. She feels blessed to work alongside coworkers she calls family, loves helping wherever she can, and especially enjoys working with the children. One thing she knows for sure — life at school is never boring!
ECC Teacher of the Year – Kelli Schonfield
Kelli has dedicated 24 years to Bristow Public Schools (21 years teaching and 3 years as an assistant). She loves teaching Pre-K because she gets to be a child’s very first teacher and help spark a love of learning from the very beginning. From the excitement of writing their name for the first time to watching students realize they can do anything they set their minds to, Kelli says she has just as much fun as her students do. She also feels blessed to work with coworkers she proudly calls family.
Congratulations to both of these amazing women! 💜 We are so lucky to have you at ECC!

Mrs. Jones’ kindergarten class has been exploring community helpers and careers, and this week they blasted off into learning about astronauts! 🚀 Students created their very own rockets and had a great time launching them while learning about force and gravity. Hands-on fun and learning made this activity out of this world! 🌟

Our ECC students are loving these windy days! 🌬️💙
A few of our Pre-K classes have been taking full advantage—creating colorful windsocks and heading outside to fly kites. Hands-on learning + fresh air = the best kind of day! 🪁✨

Today was full of hands-on learning and BIG excitement at ECC!
We were thrilled to have Discovery Lab visit for their Fantastic Forces program. Today, Mrs. Watts’ class, Mrs. Balenti’s class, and Mrs. Shironaka’s class had the opportunity to explore the power of push and pull, motion, and energy through fun, interactive experiments that had everyone engaged and thinking like little scientists.
This visit is part of a special follow-up from our grant opportunity earlier this year, when our students were able to visit Discovery Lab in person. From now until the end of the school year, every classroom will get to experience this amazing program!
From predicting outcomes to testing ideas, our students were all in and loving every minute of discovery. Experiences like this truly bring learning to life and spark curiosity in the best way! 🔬✨

Spring Break is coming to an end, and we can’t wait to welcome our students back! 🌸
Let’s finish this school year strong—full of learning, laughter, and lots of memorable moments. The best is still yet to come at ECC! 💛📚
