From sketches to sculptures to stories, Mrs. Mattox’s class has been bringing creativity to life! Students first collaborated with the high school art class to transform their monster drawings into clay sculptures. Today, they partnered with the high school English department to write imaginative stories about their monsters. These meaningful, cross-curricular collaborations encourage creativity, communication, and connections across grade levels.

💜Counselor Appreciation Week at ECC💜
“Mrs. Wayland is nice.”
“She reads to us.”
“She makes me feel better.”
“She’s funny.”
“She has ears.”
These are just a few of the reasons our students adore Mrs. Wayland. We are so thankful for the love, comfort, and joy she brings to ECC every single day! 💜

100 Days Smarter & 100 Days Cuter! 🎉
Today we celebrated the 100th Day of School, and our students showed up in the most adorable ways! Some dressed like they were 100 years old, and others proudly wore 100 items on their shirts. From gray hair and canes to buttons, stickers, and snacks — our hallways were filled with creativity, laughter, and lots of counting!
We are 100 days stronger, smarter, and more confident learners. We can’t wait to see what the next 100 days bring! 💛📚
🐾 Reminder for Pre-K families: Tomorrow we celebrate 101 Days of School — dress your little ones in black and white as we turn into Dalmatians for 101 Dalmatians! 🖤🤍

🌤️🐿️ Groundhog Day Fun! 🐿️🌤️
Groundhog Day is this coming Monday, and today Mrs. Mattox and Mrs. Watts’s classes got a head start by creating adorable little groundhogs and making predictions about whether Punxsutawney Phil will see his shadow or not. This fun, hands-on activity sparked great conversations and excitement as students learned all about this favorite tradition!

🍕 P is for Pizza! 🍕
This week in Pre-K, we’ve been learning all about the letter P, and Mrs. Plum’s class had a perfectly delicious way to practice! The students made their very own personal pizzas, working on letter recognition, fine motor skills, and following directions—all while having tons of fun. Learning is always better when it’s hands-on (and tasty)! 😄👏

Reminder, Bristow Public Schools will be in session tomorrow, January 30th as a snow make up day. We will also be in session next Friday, February 6th for our second make up day.

Mrs. Balenti’s class has been busy measuring around the classroom… with mittens! 🧤📏
The students explored measurement in a hands-on way by using mittens to see how long different classroom items were. So much learning, problem-solving, and fun happening as they practiced early math skills together! We love seeing curiosity and creativity in action at ECC! 💜

There will be no school Tuesday, January 27, 2026 due to road conditions. We will make up both Monday and Tuesday on Friday, January 30, 2026 and Friday, February 6, 2026.

There will be no school on Monday, January 26, 2026. This will be a snow day. Home Alone will also be closed.

V is for Volcano! 🌋
Kindergarten had a blast learning about the letter V this week in Mrs. Baker’s class! The students got hands-on and creative by making their very own volcanoes—learning letters, science, and having explosive fun all at once! 💥✨

Mrs.Balenti’s class was having a snowy good time!
The kids made their very own cloud snow and had a blast squishing, scooping, and playing together. Over in Mrs. Mattoxox’s class, the fun continued with shaving-cream snow — soft, fluffy, and full of giggles! Hands-on sensory play like this sparks creativity, builds fine motor skills, and makes learning feel like pure fun. Snow day magic… minus the cold! ☁️❄️✨

Meet Ollie the Octopus 🐙💙
Pre-K is diving into Letter O this week! The kids are having a tentacle-tastic time seeing just how long they can make Ollie’s octopus arms while practicing those O skills. We’re stretching, counting, creating, and learning—all while having so much fun!
Stay tuned to see how big Ollie grows! 🌊✨

☃️ Snow way! Mrs. Jones’ class whipped up some classroom snow and had a blast getting into the winter spirit. These little learners are all prepped and excited for a snowy weekend! ❄️✨

Mrs. Plum’s class got creative by making necklaces to celebrate the letter N! Threading helped strengthen little fingers while turning learning into something fun and memorable. 💛

✨ From Monsters to Masterpieces! ✨
Last week, during letter M, Mrs. Mattox’s Pre-K class drew monsters 🧟♂️🎨 — and this week, those monsters came to LIFE!
Our Pre-K students collaborated with the high school art class to transform their monster drawings into clay creations. Using clay, imagination, and teamwork, they turned their ideas into something truly special. 🖐️✨
We love seeing creativity grow and partnerships across grade levels—such a meaningful and memorable experience for everyone involved! 💚

Friendly reminder for our Pre-K students to wear NEON colors as we celebrate Letter N with a fun Neon Day!
Let’s make it bright and fun! ✨
