Our ECC students and teachers love it when former students come back to visit! 💕 Today, they shared their love of reading with our pre-K and kindergarten classes by reading some of their favorite stories. It’s always so special to see our former students giving back and setting a positive example for our youngest learners. 📚

🎀 Red Ribbon Week starts this week at ECC! 🎀 We have some fun dress-up days planned for our Littles — check out the picture below for the schedule! Throughout the week, we’ll be learning all about making healthy choices and living our best lives. ❤️

🧡 Octopus Stew for the Letter Oo! 🐙 This week in Mrs. Baker's class they dove into learning all about octopuses through nonfiction books. To wrap up our week, we made and tasted Octopus Stew! Before tasting, we made predictions on whether we’d like it — and of course, we added a little ketchup to try it out. Mrs. Wayland and Mrs. Adams even joined in on the taste test, and to everyone’s surprise… we all liked it! Afterward, we created our own octopus swimming in the ocean art, inspired by a real-life octopus named Inky who escaped from an aquarium to return to the sea. 🌊🐙

🎃 Mrs. Beard’s Class is Getting Spooky! 👻 Mrs. Beard’s class created their very own Spookley the Square Pumpkin and had so much fun during center time! The kiddos loved bringing the story to life with their creative pumpkins and festive activities. 🍂🧡

🍬 Trunk or Treat Candy Contest! 🍕 We’re collecting candy donations for our upcoming Trunk or Treat! The class with the most pieces of candy will win a pizza party! 🎉 Here are the top five classes currently in the lead: 1️⃣ Mrs. Watts 2️⃣ Mrs. Plum 3️⃣ Mrs. Mattox 4️⃣ Mrs. Fruits 5️⃣ Mrs. Brewer Keep those donations coming! All candy needs to be turned in by Tuesday, October 29. Let’s see which class takes the top spot! 🏆🎃

🏗️ Excitement Across the Street! 🏗️ Our ECC kiddos have loved watching the Chrysler Tower being put back together right across from our school! It’s been such a fun and unique learning experience for them to see a piece of Bristow history come to life again. Today, Mrs. Baker’s class had a special visit from Mrs Linda Trigalet with the Bristow Historical Society, who shared fascinating facts and stories about the tower’s history and its importance to our community. Be sure to tune in to Channel 6 News at 10:00 tonight for a special report on the Chrysler Tower project!

🚒 Fire Safety Fun at ECC! 🚒 Today, the Bristow Fire Department visited our Pre-K students to teach them all about fire safety! The firefighters talked with the children about the importance of checking smoke detectors at home, calling 911 in case of an emergency, and knowing what to do if their clothes ever catch fire — Stop, Drop, and Roll! They also reminded students how important it is to make a safety plan with their families in case of a house fire. Before the students could explore the fire truck up close, the firefighters received a real call and had to head out to put out a fire — a perfect reminder of how important their work truly is! A huge thank you to the Bristow Fire Department for taking the time to visit our little learners and keep our community safe. ❤️🔥

While Mrs Mattox's class was busy exploring their five senses today, Mrs Adams couldn’t resist joining in on the fun! 🎃😂 We’re so glad she stopped by to experience all the pumpkin-themed excitement with our pre-K students. It’s always a good day when learning (and laughter) take over! 🍂🧡

🎃 Pumpkin Senses Exploration! 🎃 Today, Mrs. Mattox’s class studied their five senses through fun pumpkin investigations! Students rotated through different stations where they: 👃 Smelled a variety of pumpkin scents ✋ Reached inside a pumpkin to feel what was inside 👂 Used a stethoscope to listen to the inside of a pumpkin 👅 Tasted yummy pumpkin treats 👀 Used magnifying glasses to closely observe different types of pumpkins A big shout-out to the amazing parents and grandparents who came to help! Your support made this sensory learning activity a huge success! 🍂🧡

🚒 Kindergarten/T1 Field Trip to the Fire Station! 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒 Today our kindergarten classes had an unforgettable adventure at the Bristow Fire Station! The excitement was through the roof as our little learners got to meet some of our community’s real-life heroes — our amazing firefighters! ❤️ The kids had so much fun exploring the fire trucks, looking at their gear, and even getting to spray the fire hose! 💦 Their faces lit up with joy as the firefighters took the time to talk with them, answer their questions, and explain what they do — all in a way that our kindergartners/T1 could understand. We are so proud to have such kind, patient, and dedicated firefighters serving our community. Thank you, Bristow Fire Department, for making learning come alive and for showing our students what true bravery and community spirit look like. 💜🏴‍☠️ Pirate Pride was shining bright today! There’s nothing better than starting our morning with the Bristow High School cheerleaders and football players greeting our little pirates! Their smiles and high energy set the perfect tone for a fun-filled Friday at ECC!

Mrs. Fruit’s class had a special visitor today! One of our students’ dads, who is an engineer, stopped by to read to the class and lead a fun hands-on engineering activity. The visit tied in perfectly with our letter of the week — E is for Engineer! Our pre-K students loved learning and creating just like real engineers! 👷‍♂️📚

Our students at ECC collected all kinds of snacks and goodies to recognize our amazing community helpers! 🩵 Thanks to so many generous donations, we were able to deliver baskets to 29 different businesses and organizations that give so much to our community. We truly appreciate all that they do! 💜

Next week is Fall Break! Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025 is a Teacher PD day....no school for students. Fall Break begins Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025. School resumes on Monday, October 20, 2025. Parent Teacher Conferences are October 13th and 14th. Parents can contact their child's site to sign up for a conference time.
