As we wind down our week of spring break, BPS would like to remind everyone that school will be back in session on Monday, March 20th. Friday, March 24th is a virtual day to make up for a day we missed last semester due to having no water. After Friday, March 24th, BPS will transition to 4 day weeks with no school on Fridays through the rest of this semester. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday!

State Winner!
Mason W won 1st Place in Server Administration using Microsoft Windows at the Business Professionals Association State Competition for the second year in row! He will compete at the Nationals in Anaheim later this year.

Don't forget! Parent/Teacher Conferences are tonight from 4-7 pm and Thursday, March 9th from 4-7 pm. There is no school this Friday, March 10th and Spring Break is March 13-19th. School resumes March 20th. Have a great break!

Albaney P placed 5th at the Oklahoma girls state powerlifting competition on Monday with a three lift total of 710 lbs.
Parker L, Jakobi M, and Noah M are state qualifiers in powerlifting. They will lift in El Reno Friday, March 10 at the state meet.
Jesse D, Chad O, Will R, Cristo L, Chris D, and Ty B also competed at the Northeast regional on Thursday. The boys scored enough points to be the regional 3A Runner Ups.

Lady Pirate Powerlifters competed again this week.
Albaney P placed fifth today at regionals and has qualified for the state powerlifting meet on Monday, March 6. She squatted 275 lbs., benched 125 lbs., and deadlifted 275 lbs.
Other lifters included: Jamison M, Jazmyn G, Carlie C, Macy P, and Hayden H.


This year marks the 10th anniversary of Bristow’s first STATE CHAMPIONSHIP in track!
We would love for all Bristow Track athletes, both past and present, to come and help us celebrate Coach Shannon Hilburn and the successful program he has created. The celebration will be held Sunday, March 5th at 2pm at First Baptist Church in Bristow. We hope to see you there! In addition, we encourage everyone to send a note of gratitude for Coach Hilburn's dedication. FinTech Focus is a two-week immersive program designed for incoming college freshmen with an interest in finance, computer science and technology. Over the course of the program, students learn the principles of computer science, gain exposure to the financial services industry, and get hands-on experience developing real-world applications. Students will have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers, learn the basics of banking and finance, and gain insights into STEM career paths available in college and beyond. The course will take place virtually, with the support and sponsorship of top financial firms. The program is open to students who are completing their final year of high school and are planning on enrolling in an accredited college or university for Fall 2023 or Spring 2024.

My name is Pamela Tepstein I am a member of the American Legion. I would like to tell you about a wonderful opportunity for you as a junior to get to know about our state and local governments and how they work.
The program is called Girls State and Boys State. For those of you going to college it looks great on a college application as many very prestigious people have gone to these programs including astronauts and senators and many high-ranking military officers as well.
The Boys State can also get 3 hours of college credit. If you attend boys state program and attend Rogers State University named after Will Rogers. Half of your tuition will be paid by Rogers State. The contact for Oklahoma Boys State is:

Microsoft Scholarship – High School Students in Technology Careers
This scholarship will be awarded to promising high school seniors with disabilities who plan to attend a vocational or academic college and aspire to have a career in the technology industry.
The scholarships are renewable – each winner who continues to meet the criteria is eligible to receive an annual award of $5,000 for up to four (4) consecutive years for a potential total $20,000 scholarship. A total of eight (8) scholarships will be awarded in 2023.
The Microsoft Disability Scholarship seeks to empower students with disabilities to achieve more through access to education leading to a career in technology.
